NUTRITION
HEALTH
The Nutrition Program aims to improve the physical health of children and adolescents through a balanced diet and by developing the skills they need to make informed decisions about their well-being and nutritional health.
A key pillar of this program is our Dining Hall, where we provide our children with 4 of their 5 daily meals.
The Dining Hall operates in partnership with Comedor Santa María A.C., whose team supervises our work and provides training so we can implement and maintain their best practices.
The Health Program aims to improve the physical health of children and adolescents through preventive healthcare services, including weight and height monitoring, individual nutritional consultations, eye examinations, low-cost dental services, and foot health assessments.
It complements the Nutrition Program by providing feedback based on the results of weight and height measurements.
In addition, nutrition classes are offered to parents to encourage healthy eating habits at home.
80%
of students’ daily caloric requirements are met at the institution.
Each year, we provide approximately:
100,510
breakfasts and complete meals
100,510
morning and afternoon snacks
Four weight and height measurements are taken during each school year to ensure that students are growing appropriately for their age.

HUMAN DEVELOPMENT
The socio-emotional well-being of our students is a priority at A Favor del Niño.
The Human Development Program aims to promote the well-being and healthy, holistic development of children and adolescents by fostering socio-emotional skills in a caring and nurturing environment. These skills will help them face future challenges in their lives.

Emotional Support
Developing Socio-Emotional Skills
-
We provide emotional support to children and adolescents. If a student requires specialized care, they are referred to a partner institution that can provide the appropriate support.
-
We also offer workshops for children and adolescents to foster the development of socio-emotional skills.
Parents in Action
The “Parents in Action” Program aims to encourage the active and positive involvement of primary caregivers in raising children and adolescents.
AFN seeks to promote the active and positive participation of primary caregivers in raising children and providing nurturing, responsive care. The program fosters effective collaboration within a community-centered approach to development, bringing everyone together around one shared priority: ensuring that children are at the heart of all care and support.

QUALITY TEACHING
Teacher training is essential to the successful implementation of the Education Program. Teachers receive training every Monday from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
During this time, Preschool teachers enhance their teaching practices in Learning Through Play and Transdimensional Pedagogy, which encourages students to contribute to projects aimed at achieving the common good.
Elementary School teachers receive training in approaches focused on the individualized and independent learning of children.
OUR PARTNERSHIPS
We are proud to offer a comprehensive development initiative that brings together the social sector's best practices to transform the lives of vulnerable children and youth facing family neglect.
