My name is Karla, and I am currently studying at Colegio de Ciencias y Humanidades, Plantel Sur, where I am a member of the women’s soccer team.

I joined A Favor del Niño when I was three years old. I attended Preschool and Elementary School and participated in the 12–15 Program for two and a half years. Throughout this time, the lessons I learned went beyond academics; they helped shape the person I am today. I learned values such as respecting others and myself, being supportive and empathetic, always aiming higher, forgiving others without holding grudges, and communicating assertively. I learned how to save money, be creative, eat healthily, and exercise regularly. I also learned the value of entrepreneurship. Academically, I learned how to create study guides and discovered that there is more than one way to learn, whether visually or verbally. I also learned how to work both as part of a team and independently.

The number of experiences A Favor del Niño has given me is countless, and they are undoubtedly experiences I will never be able to replicate. A Favor del Niño has helped not only me but also my family. I come from a family of three: my mother, my brother, and me. Thanks to all the support we have received, my brother is now a Registered Nurse, and I have the opportunity to continue my studies.

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the institution for helping shape who I am, for believing in me, for all the experiences and lessons it has given me, for the wonderful people I have met, and for its commitment to helping students grow and achieve their goals. Above all, I want to thank life for allowing this institution to be part of mine.
